Human ACTN-4 (Alpha-Actinin-4) ELISA Kit
Human ACTN-4 (Alpha-Actinin-4) ELISA Kit
The Human (ACTN-4) Alpha-Actinin-4 ELISA Kit measures Alpha-Actinin-4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ACTN4 antibody. ACTN4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ACTN4 Antibody is added and binds to ACTN4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ACTN4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ACTN4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
F-actin cross-linking protein which is thought to anchor actin to a variety of intracellular structures. This is a bundling protein (Probable). Probably involved in vesicular trafficking via its association with the CART complex. The CART complex is necessary for efficient transferrin receptor recycling but not for EGFR degradation (PubMed: 15772161). Involved in tight junction assembly in epithelial cells probably through interaction with MICALL2. Links MICALL2 to the actin cytoskeleton and recruits it to the tight junctions (By similarity). May also function as a transcriptional coactivator, stimulating transcription mediated by the nuclear hormone receptors PPARG and RARA (PubMed: 22351778). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
