The Human (ANO1) Anoctamin 1 ELISA Kit measures Anoctamin 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ANO1 antibody. ANO1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ANO1 Antibody is added and binds to ANO1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ANO1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ANO1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Calcium-activated chloride Channel (CaCC) which plays a role in transepithelial anion transport and smooth muscle contraction. Required for the normal functioning of the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs) which generate electrical pacemaker activity in gastrointestinal smooth muscles.
