The Human (APC) Adenomatosis Polyposis Coli Protein ELISA Kit measures Adenomatosis Polyposis Coli Protein in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human APC antibody. APC present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human APC Antibody is added and binds to APC in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated APC antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human APC. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Tumor suppressor. Promotes rapid degradation of CTNNB1 and participates in Wnt signaling as a negative regulator. APC activity is correlated with its phosphorylation state. Activates the GEF activity of SPATA13 and ARHGEF4. Plays a role in hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-induced cell migration. Required for MMP9 up-regulation via the JNK signaling pathway in colorectal tumor cells. Acts as a mediator of ERBB2-dependent stabilization of microtubules at the cell cortex.
