Human AQP-3 (Aquaporin 3) ELISA Kit
Human AQP-3 (Aquaporin 3) ELISA Kit
The Human (AQP-3) Aquaporin 3 ELISA Kit measures Aquaporin 3 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human AQP3 antibody. AQP3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human AQP3 Antibody is added and binds to AQP3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AQP3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human AQP3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Water Channel required to promote glycerol permeability and water transport across cell membranes (PubMed: 12239222, PubMed: 30420639). Acts as a glycerol transporter in skin and plays an important role in regulating SC (stratum corneum) and epidermal glycerol content. Involved in skin hydration, wound healing, and tumorigenesis. Provides kidney medullary collecting duct with high permeability to water, thereby permitting water to move in the direction of an osmotic gradient. Slightly permeable to urea and may function as a water and urea exit mechanism in antidiuresis in collecting duct cells. It may play an important role in gastrointestinal tract water transport and in glycerol metabolism (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
