Porcine NEFH (Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide) ELISA Kit
Porcine NEFH (Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide) ELISA Kit
The Porcine (NEFH) Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide ELISA Kit measures Neurofilament heavy polypeptide in Porcine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Porcine NEFH antibody. NEFH present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Porcine NEFH Antibody is added and binds to NEFH in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NEFH antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Porcine NEFH. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Neurofilaments usually contain three intermediate filament proteins: NEFL, NEFM, and NEFH which are involved in the maintenance of neuronal caliber. NEFH has an important function in mature axons that is not subserved by the two smaller NF proteins. May additionally cooperate with the neuronal intermediate filament proteins PRPH and INA to form neuronal filamentous networks (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
