The Bovine (ADAMTS5) A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs 5 ELISA Kit measures A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 5 in Bovine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Bovine ADAMTS5 antibody. ADAMTS5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Bovine ADAMTS5 Antibody is added and binds to ADAMTS5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ADAMTS5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Bovine ADAMTS5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Cleaves VCAN in the pericellular matrix surrounding myoblasts, facilitating myoblast contact and fusion which is required for skeletal muscle development and regeneration. Participates in the development of brown adipose tissue and browning of white adipose tissue. Plays an important role for T-lymphocyte migration from draining lymph nodes following viral infection.
