Bovine CA-1 (Carbonic Anhydrase 1) ELISA Kit
Bovine CA-1 (Carbonic Anhydrase 1) ELISA Kit
The Bovine (CA-1) Carbonic Anhydrase 1 ELISA Kit measures carbonic anhydrase 1 in Bovine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Bovine CA-1 antibody. CA-1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Bovine CA-1 Antibody is added and binds to CA-1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CA-1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Bovine CA-1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Carbonic anhydrase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CA1 gene. Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including cellular respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid.
