The Bovine (FBLN5) Fibulin 5 ELISA Kit measures Fibulin 5 in Bovine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Bovine FBLN5 antibody. FBLN5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Bovine FBLN5 Antibody is added and binds to FBLN5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FBLN5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Bovine FBLN5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Essential for elastic fiber formation, is involved in the assembly of continuous elastin (ELN) polymer and promotes the interaction of microfibrils and ELN. Stabilizes and organizes elastic fibers in the skin, lung and vasculature. Promotes adhesion of endothelial cells through interaction of integrins and the RGD motif. Vascular ligand for integrin receptors which may play a role in vascular development and remodeling. May act as an adapter that mediates the interaction between FBN1 and ELN.
