Bovine GHRL (Appetite-Regulating Hormone) ELISA Kit
Bovine GHRL (Appetite-Regulating Hormone) ELISA Kit
The Bovine (GHRL) Appetite-Regulating Hormone ELISA Kit measures Appetite-Regulating Hormone in Bovine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Bovine GHRL antibody. GHRL present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Bovine GHRL Antibody is added and binds to GHRL in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GHRL antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Bovine GHRL. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Ghrelin is the ligand for growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). Induces the release of growth hormone from the pituitary. Has an appetite-stimulating effect, induces adiposity and stimulates gastric acid secretion. Involved in growth regulation (By similarity). Obestatin may be the ligand for GPR39. May have an appetite-reducing effect resulting in decreased food intake. May reduce gastric emptying activity and jejunal motility (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
