The Bovine (MYD88) Myeloid Differentiation Primary Response Protein Myd88 ELISA Kit measures Myeloid Differentiation Primary Response Protein Myd88 in Bovine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Bovine MYD88 antibody. MYD88 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Bovine MYD88 Antibody is added and binds to MYD88 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MYD88 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Bovine MYD88. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundAdapter protein involved in the Toll-like receptor and IL-1 receptor signaling pathway in the innate immune response. Acts via IRAK1, IRAK2 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Increases IL-8 transcription. Involved in IL-18-mediated signaling pathway. Activates IRF1 resulting in its rapid migration into the nucleus to mediate an efficient induction of IFN-beta, NOS2/INOS, and IL12A genes (PubMed: 17936907, PubMed: 18760477). MyD88-mediated signaling in intestinal epithelial cells is crucial for maintenance of gut homeostasis and controls the expression of the antimicrobial lectin REG3G in the small intestine (By similarity).
