The Human (AADAT) Kynurenine/Alpha-aminoadipate Aminotransferase ELISA Kit measures Kynurenine/alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human AADAT antibody. AADAT present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human AADAT Antibody is added and binds to AADAT in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AADAT antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human AADAT. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Transaminase with broad substrate specificity. Has transaminase activity towards aminoadipate, kynurenine, methionine and glutamate. Shows activity also towards tryptophan, aspartate and hydroxykynurenine. Accepts a variety of oxo-acids as amino-group acceptors, with a preference for 2-oxoglutarate, 2-oxocaproic acid, phenylpyruvate and alpha-oxo-gamma-methiol butyric acid.
