The Human (ADAMTS6) A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs 6 ELISA Kit measures A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs 6 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ADAMTS6 antibody. ADAMTS6 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ADAMTS6 Antibody is added and binds to ADAMTS6 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ADAMTS6 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ADAMTS6. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ADAMTS6 gene. This gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) protein family. Members of the family share several distinct protein modules, including a propeptide region, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature enzyme. Expression of this gene may be regulated by the cytokine TNF-alpha.
