Human ADRA2A (Alpha-2A Adrenergic Receptor) ELISA Kit
Human ADRA2A (Alpha-2A Adrenergic Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Human (ADRA2A) Alpha-2A Adrenergic Receptor ELISA Kit measures Alpha-2A Adrenergic Receptor in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ADRA2A antibody. ADRA2A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ADRA2A Antibody is added and binds to ADRA2A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ADRA2A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ADRA2A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Alpha-2 adrenergic receptors mediate the catecholamine-induced inhibition of adenylate cyclase through the action of G proteins. The rank order of potency for agonists of this receptor is oxymetazoline > clonidine > epinephrine > norepinephrine > phenylephrine > dopamine > p-synephrine > p-tyramine > serotonin = p-octopamine. For antagonists, the rank order is yohimbine > phentolamine = mianserine > chlorpromazine = spiperone = prazosin > propanolol > alprenolol = pindolol. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
