Human ALPHA-LA (Alpha Lactalbumin) ELISA Kit
Human ALPHA-LA (Alpha Lactalbumin) ELISA Kit
The Human (ALPHA-LA) Alpha Lactalbumin ELISA Kit measures alpha Lactalbumin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human alpha-La antibody. alpha- La present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human alpha-La Antibody is added and binds to alpha-La in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated alpha-La antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human alpha-La. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Regulatory subunit of lactose synthase, changes the substrate specificity of galactosyltransferase in the mammary gland making glucose a good acceptor substrate for this enzyme. This enables LS to synthesize lactose, the major carbohydrate component of milk. In other tissues, galactosyltransferase transfers galactose onto the N-acetylglucosamine of the oligosaccharide chains in glycoproteins. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
