Human CHST1 (Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 1) ELISA Kit

Human CHST1 (Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 1) ELISA Kit

The Human (CHST1) Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 1 ELISA Kit measures Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CHST1 antibody. CHST1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CHST1 Antibody is added and binds to CHST1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CHST1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CHST1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Sulfotransferase that utilizes 3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate (PAPS) as sulfonate donor to catalyze the transfer of sulfate to position 6 of galactose (Gal) residues of keratan. Has a preference for sulfating keratan sulfate, but it also transfers sulfate to the unsulfated polymer. The sulfotransferase activity on sialyl LacNAc structures is much higher than the corresponding desialylated substrate, and only internal Gal residues are sulfated. May function in the sulfation of sialyl N-acetyllactosamine oligosaccharide chains attached to glycoproteins. Participates in biosynthesis of selectin ligands. Selectin ligands are present in high endothelial cells (HEVs) and play a central role in lymphocyte homing at sites of inflammation. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
