Human CPA4 (Carboxypeptidase A4) ELISA Kit

Human CPA4 (Carboxypeptidase A4) ELISA Kit

The Human (CPA4) Carboxypeptidase A4 ELISA Kit measures Carboxypeptidase A4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CPA4 antibody. CPA4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CPA4 Antibody is added and binds to CPA4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CPA4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CPA4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Carboxypeptidase A4 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CPA4 gene. This gene is a member of the carboxypeptidase A/B subfamily, and it is located in a cluster with three other family members on chromosome 7. Carboxypeptidases are zinc-containing exopeptidases that catalyze the release of carboxy-terminal amino acids, and are synthesized as zymogens that are activated by proteolytic cleavage. This gene could be involved in the histone hyperacetylation pathway. It is imprinted and may be a strong candidate gene for prostate cancer aggressiveness. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
