The Human (IL18R1) Interleukin-18 Receptor 1 ELISA Kit measures Interleukin-18 Receptor 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human IL18R1 antibody. IL18R1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human IL18R1 Antibody is added and binds to IL18R1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL18R1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human IL18R1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Within the IL18 receptor complex, responsible for the binding of the proinflammatory cytokine IL18, but not IL1A nor IL1B (PubMed: 8626725, PubMed: 14528293, PubMed: 25261253, PubMed: 25500532). Involved in IL18-mediated IFNG synthesis from T-helper 1 (Th1) cells (PubMed: 10653850).
