Human IMPDH2 (Inosine-5-monophosphate Dehydrogenase 2) ELISA Kit
Human IMPDH2 (Inosine-5-monophosphate Dehydrogenase 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (IMPDH2) Inosine-5-monophosphate Dehydrogenase 2 ELISA Kit measures Inosine-5-monophosphate dehydrogenase 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human IMPDH2 antibody. IMPDH2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human IMPDH2 Antibody is added and binds to IMPDH2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IMPDH2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human IMPDH2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Catalyzes the conversion of inosine 5'-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine 5'-phosphate (XMP), the first committed and rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides, and therefore plays an important role in the regulation of cell growth (PubMed:7903306, PubMed:7763314).
Could also have a single-stranded nucleic acid-binding activity and could play a role in RNA and/or DNA metabolism (PubMed:14766016).
It may also have a role in the development of malignancy and the growth progression of some tumors. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
