Human ITGA2B (Integrin Alpha-2B) ELISA Kit
Human ITGA2B (Integrin Alpha-2B) ELISA Kit
The Human (ITGA2B) Integrin Alpha-2B ELISA Kit measures Integrin Alpha-2B in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ITGA2 antibody. ITGA2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ITGA2 Antibody is added and binds to ITGA2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ITGA2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ITGA2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Integrin alpha-2/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin, collagen, collagen C-propeptides, fibronectin and E-cadherin. It recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R in collagen. It is responsible for adhesion of platelets and other cells to collagens, modulation of collagen and collagenase gene expression, force generation and organization of newly synthesized extracellular matrix. (Microbial infection) Integrin ITGA2:ITGB1 acts as a receptor for Human rotavirus A. (Microbial infection) Integrin ITGA2:ITGB1 acts as a receptor for Human echoviruses 1 and 8.
