The Human (ITGA3) Integrin Alpha-3 ELISA Kit measures Integrin Alpha-3 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ITGA3 antibody. ITGA3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ITGA3 Antibody is added and binds to ITGA3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ITGA3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ITGA3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Integrin alpha-3/beta-1 is a receptor for fibronectin, laminin, collagen, epiligrin, thrombospondin and CSPG4. Integrin alpha-3/beta-1 provides a docking site for FAP (seprase) at invadopodia plasma membranes in a collagen-dependent manner and hence may participate in the adhesion, formation of invadopodia and matrix degradation processes, promoting cell invasion. Alpha-3/beta-1 may mediate with LGALS3 the stimulation by CSPG4 of endothelial cells migration. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
