The Human (KIF20A) Kinesin-like Protein Kif20A ELISA Kit measures Kinesin-like protein KIF20A in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human KIF20A antibody. KIF20A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human KIF20A Antibody is added and binds to KIF20A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated KIF20A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human KIF20A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Mitotic kinesin required for chromosome passenger complex (CPC)-mediated cytokinesis. Following phosphorylation by PLK1, involved in recruitment of PLK1 to the central spindle. Interacts with guanosine triphosphate (GTP)-bound forms of RAB6A and RAB6B. May act as a motor required for the retrograde RAB6 regulated transport of Golgi membranes and associated vesicles along microtubules. Has a microtubule plus end-directed motility.
