Human KLK12 (Kallikrein-12) ELISA Kit
Human KLK12 (Kallikrein-12) ELISA Kit
The Human (KLK12) Kallikrein-12 ELISA Kit measures Kallikrein-12 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human KLK12 antibody. KLK12 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human KLK12 Antibody is added and binds to KLK12 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated KLK12 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human KLK12. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Kallikrein-12 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the KLK12 gene. Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Alternate splicing of this gene results in three transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
