Human LDHC (L-lactate Dehydrogenase C Chain) ELISA Kit

Human LDHC (L-lactate Dehydrogenase C Chain) ELISA Kit

The Human (LDHC) L-lactate Dehydrogenase C Chain ELISA Kit measures L-lactate dehydrogenase C chain in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human LDHC antibody. LDHC present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human LDHC Antibody is added and binds to LDHC in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LDHC antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human LDHC. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH or LD) is an enzyme found in nearly all living cells. LDH catalyzes the conversion of lactate to pyruvate and back, as it converts NAD+ to NADH and back. A dehydrogenase is an enzyme that transfers a hydride from one molecule to another. LDH exists in four distinct enzyme classes. This article is specifically about the NAD(P)-dependent L-lactate dehydrogenase. Other LDHs act on D-lactate and/or are dependent on cytochrome c: D-lactate dehydrogenase (cytochrome) and L-lactate dehydrogenase (cytochrome). LDH is expressed extensively in body tissues, such as blood cells and heart muscle. Because it is released during tissue damage, it is a marker of common injuries and disease such as heart failure.
