Human LDLR (Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor) ELISA Kit
Human LDLR (Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Human (LDLR) Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor ELISA Kit measures Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human LDLR antibody. LDLR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human LDLR Antibody is added and binds to LDLR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LDLR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human LDLR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Binds LDL, the major cholesterol-carrying lipoprotein of plasma, and transports it into cells by endocytosis. In order to be internalized, the receptor-ligand complexes must first cluster into clathrin-coated pits. (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for hepatitis C virus in hepatocytes, but not through a direct interaction with viral proteins. (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for Vesicular stomatitis virus. (Microbial infection) In case of HIV-1 infection, may function as a receptor for extracellular Tat in neurons, mediating its internalization in uninfected cells. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
