Human MADCAM-1 (Mucosal Addressin Cell Adhesion Molecule-1) ELISA Kit

Human MADCAM-1 (Mucosal Addressin Cell Adhesion Molecule-1) ELISA Kit

The Human (MADCAM-1) Mucosal Addressin Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 ELISA Kit measures mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule-1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human MAdCAM-1 antibody. MAdCAM-1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human MAdCAM-1 Antibody is added and binds to MAdCAM-1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MAdCAM-1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human MAdCAM-1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Cell adhesion leukocyte receptor expressed by mucosal venules, helps to direct lymphocyte traffic into mucosal tissues including the Peyer patches and the intestinal lamina propria. It can bind both integrin alpha-4/beta-7 and L-selectin, regulating both the passage and retention of leukocytes. Isoform 2, lacking the mucin-like domain, may be specialized in supporting integrin alpha-4/beta-7-dependent adhesion strengthening, independent of L-selectin binding.
