Human MAP1B (Microtubule-associated Protein 1B) ELISA Kit
Human MAP1B (Microtubule-associated Protein 1B) ELISA Kit
The Human (MAP1B) Microtubule-associated Protein 1B ELISA Kit measures Microtubule-Associated Protein 1B in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human MAP1B antibody. MAP1B present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human MAP1B Antibody is added and binds to MAP1B in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MAP1B antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human MAP1B. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Facilitates tyrosination of alpha-tubulin in neuronal microtubules (By similarity). Phosphorylated MAP1B may play a role in the cytoskeletal changes that accompany neurite extension. Possibly MAP1B binds to at least two tubulin subunits in the polymer, and this bridging of subunits might be involved in nucleating microtubule polymerization and in stabilizing microtubules. Acts as a positive cofactor in DAPK1-mediated autophagic vesicle formation and membrane blebbing. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
