Human MAPK6 (Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase 6) ELISA Kit
Human MAPK6 (Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase 6) ELISA Kit
The Human (MAPK6) Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase 6 ELISA Kit measures Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 6 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human MAPK6 antibody. MAPK6 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human MAPK6 Antibody is added and binds to MAPK6 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MAPK6 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human MAPK6. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Atypical MAPK protein. Phosphorylates microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) and MAPKAPK5. The precise role of the complex formed with MAPKAPK5 is still unclear, but the complex follows a complex set of phosphorylation events: upon interaction with atypical MAPKAPK5, ERK3/MAPK6 is phosphorylated at Ser-189 and then mediates phosphorylation and activation of MAPKAPK5, which in turn phosphorylates ERK3/MAPK6. May promote entry in the cell cycle (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
