Human ME1 (Nadp-dependent Malic Enzyme) ELISA Kit
Human ME1 (Nadp-dependent Malic Enzyme) ELISA Kit
The Human (ME1) Nadp-dependent Malic Enzyme ELISA Kit measures NADP-dependent malic enzyme in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ME1 antibody. ME1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ME1 Antibody is added and binds to ME1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ME1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ME1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
NADP-dependent malic enzyme is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ME1 gene. This gene encodes a cytosolic, NADP-dependent enzyme that generates NADPH for fatty acid biosynthesis. The activity of this enzyme, the reversible oxidative decarboxylation of malate to pyruvate, links the glycolytic and citric acid cycles. The regulation of expression for this gene is complex. Increased expression can result from elevated levels of thyroid hormones or by higher proportions of carbohydrates in the diet. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
