Human MEP1B (Meprin A Subunit Beta) ELISA Kit
Human MEP1B (Meprin A Subunit Beta) ELISA Kit
The Human (MEP1B) Meprin A Subunit Beta ELISA Kit measures Meprin A subunit beta in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human MEP1B antibody. MEP1B present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human MEP1B Antibody is added and binds to MEP1B in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MEP1B antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human MEP1B. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Membrane metallopeptidase that sheds many membrane-bound proteins. Exhibits a strong preference for acidic amino acids at the P1' position. Known substrates include: FGF19, VGFA, IL1B, IL18, procollagen I and III, E-cadherin, KLK7, gastrin, ADAM10, tenascin-C. The presence of several pro-inflammatory cytokine among substrates implicate MEP1B in inflammation. It is also involved in tissue remodeling due to its capability to degrade extracellular matrix components. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
