Human MIA2 (Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Protein 2) ELISA Kit
Human MIA2 (Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Protein 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (MIA2) Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Protein 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human MIA2 antibody. MIA2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human MIA2 Antibody is added and binds to MIA2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MIA2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human MIA2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Plays a role in the transport of cargos that are too large to fit into COPII-coated vesicles and require specific mechanisms to be incorporated into membrane-bound carriers and exported from the endoplasmic reticulum (PubMed: 27138255, PubMed: 21525241, PubMed: 25202031, PubMed: 27170179). Plays a role in the secretion of lipoproteins, pre-chylomicrons and pre-VLDLs, by participating in their export from the endoplasmic reticulum (PubMed: 27138255). Thereby, may play a role in cholesterol and triglyceride homeostasis (By similarity). Required for collagen VII (COL7A1) secretion by loading COL7A1 into transport carriers and recruiting PREB/SEC12 at the endoplasmic reticulum exit sites (PubMed: 21525241, PubMed: 25202031, PubMed: 27170179).
