Human MYL4 (Myosin Light Chain 4) ELISA Kit
Human MYL4 (Myosin Light Chain 4) ELISA Kit
The Human (MYL4) Myosin Light Chain 4 ELISA Kit measures Myosin light chain 4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human MYL4 antibody. MYL4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human MYL4 Antibody is added and binds to MYL4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MYL4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human MYL4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Atrial Light Chain-1 (ALC-1), also known as Essential Light Chain, Atrial is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MYL4 gene. LC-1 is expressed in fetal cardiac ventricular and fetal skeletal muscle, as well as fetal and adult cardiac atrial tissue. ALC-1 expression is reactivated in human ventricular myocardium in various cardiac muscle diseases, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, ischemic cardiomyopathy and congenital heart diseases.
