The Human (NAP1L4) Nucleosome Assembly Protein 1-like 4 ELISA Kit measures Nucleosome assembly protein 1-like 4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human NAP1L4 antibody. NAP1L4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human NAP1L4 Antibody is added and binds to NAP1L4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NAP1L4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human NAP1L4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Nucleosome assembly protein 1-like 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NAP1L4 gene. This gene encodes a member of the nucleosome assembly protein (NAP) family which can interact with both core and linker histones. It can shuttle between the cytoplasm and nucleus, suggesting a role as a histone chaperone. This gene is one of several located near the imprinted gene domain of 11p15.5, an important tumor-suppressor gene region. Alterations in this region have been associated with the Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and lung, ovarian, and breast cancer.
