Human NCL (Nucleolin) ELISA Kit
Human NCL (Nucleolin) ELISA Kit
The Human (NCL) Nucleolin ELISA Kit measures Nucleolin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human NCL antibody. NCL present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human NCL Antibody is added and binds to NCL in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NCL antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human NCL. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Nucleolin is the major nucleolar protein of growing eukaryotic cells. It is found associated with intranucleolar chromatin and pre-ribosomal particles. It induces chromatin decondensation by binding to histone H1. It is thought to play a role in pre-rRNA transcription and ribosome assembly. May play a role in the process of transcriptional elongation. Binds RNA oligonucleotides with 5'-UUAGGG-3' repeats more tightly than the telomeric single-stranded DNA 5'-TTAGGG-3' repeats.
