The Human (NOD1) Nucleotide-binding Oligomerization Domain-containing Protein 1 ELISA Kit measures Nucleotide-Binding Oligomerization Domain-Containing Protein 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human NOD1 antibody. NOD1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human NOD1 Antibody is added and binds to NOD1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NOD1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human NOD1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundEnhances caspase-9-mediated apoptosis. Induces NF-kappa-B activity via RIPK2 and IKK-gamma. Confers responsiveness to intracellular bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS). Forms an intracellular sensing system along with ARHGEF2 for the detection of microbial effectors during cell invasion by pathogens. Required for RHOA and RIPK2 dependent NF-kappa-B signaling pathway activation upon S.flexneri cell invasion. Involved not only in sensing peptidoglycan (PGN)-derived muropeptides but also in the activation of NF-kappa-B by Shigella effector proteins IpgB2 and OspB. Recruits NLRP10 to the cell membrane following bacterial infection. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
