Human OPN1SW (Short-Wave-sensitive Opsin 1) ELISA Kit
Human OPN1SW (Short-Wave-sensitive Opsin 1) ELISA Kit
The Human (OPN1SW) Short-Wave-sensitive Opsin 1 ELISA Kit measures Short-wave-sensitive opsin 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human OPN1SW antibody. OPN1SW present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human OPN1SW Antibody is added and binds to OPN1SW in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OPN1SW antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human OPN1SW. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal (Probable). Required for the maintenance of cone outer segment organization in the ventral retina, but not essential for the maintenance of functioning cone photoreceptors (By similarity).
Involved in ensuring correct abundance and localization of retinal membrane proteins (By similarity).
May increase spectral sensitivity in dim light (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
