Human OSBP2 (Oxysterol-binding Protein 2) ELISA Kit
Human OSBP2 (Oxysterol-binding Protein 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (OSBP2) Oxysterol-binding Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Oxysterol-binding protein 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human OSBP2 antibody. OSBP2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human OSBP2 Antibody is added and binds to OSBP2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OSBP2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human OSBP2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Oxysterol-binding protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBP2 gene. Oxysterols are byproducts of cholesterol that can have cytotoxic effects on many cell types. The protein encoded by this gene contains a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and an oxysterol-binding region. It binds oxysterols such as 7-ketocholesterol and may inhibit their cytotoxicity. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been observed but have not been fully characterized. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
