The Human (OSBPL10) Oxysterol Binding Protein Like Protein 10 ELISA Kit measures Oxysterol Binding Protein Like Protein 10 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human OSBPL10 antibody. OSBPL10 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human OSBPL10 Antibody is added and binds to OSBPL10 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OSBPL10 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human OSBPL10. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundProbable lipid transporter involved in lipid countertransport between the endoplasmic reticulum and the plasma membrane. Its ability to bind phosphatidylserine, suggests that it specifically exchanges phosphatidylserine with phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P), delivering phosphatidylserine to the plasma membrane in exchange for PI4P (PubMed:23934110) (Probable).
Plays a role in negative regulation of lipid biosynthesis (PubMed:19554302).
Negatively regulates APOB secretion from hepatocytes (PubMed:19554302, PubMed:22906437).
Binds cholesterol and acidic phospholipids (PubMed:22906437).
Also binds 25-hydroxycholesterol (PubMed:17428193).
Binds phosphatidylserine (PubMed:23934110). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
