Human OSM (Oncostatin-M) ELISA Kit
The Human (OSM) Oncostatin-M ELISA Kit measures Oncostatin-M in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human OSM antibody. OSM present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human OSM Antibody is added and binds to OSM in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OSM antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human OSM. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Growth regulator. Inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. Stimulates proliferation of AIDS-KS cells. It regulates cytokine production, including IL-6, G-CSF and GM-CSF from endothelial cells. Uses both type I OSM receptor (heterodimers composed of LIFR and IL6ST) and type II OSM receptor (heterodimers composed of OSMR and IL6ST).
