Human PCDH20 (Protocadherin-20) ELISA Kit
Human PCDH20 (Protocadherin-20) ELISA Kit
The Human (PCDH20) Protocadherin-20 ELISA Kit measures Protocadherin-20 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PCDH20 antibody. PCDH20 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PCDH20 Antibody is added and binds to PCDH20 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PCDH20 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PCDH20. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Protocadherin-20 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PCDH20 gene. This gene belongs to the protocadherin gene family, a subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. This gene encodes a protein which contains 6 extracellular cadherin domains, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tail differing from those of the classical cadherins. Although its specific function is undetermined, the cadherin-related neuronal receptor is thought to play a role in the establishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in the brain.
