The Human (PCDH24) Cadherin-related Family Member 2 ELISA Kit measures Cadherin-related family member 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PCDH24 antibody. PCDH24 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PCDH24 Antibody is added and binds to PCDH24 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PCDH24 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PCDH24. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Intermicrovillar adhesion molecule that forms, via its extracellular domain, calcium-dependent heterophilic complexes with CDHR5 on adjacent microvilli. Thereby, controls the packing of microvilli at the apical membrane of epithelial cells. Through its cytoplasmic domain, interacts with microvillus cytoplasmic proteins to form the intermicrovillar adhesion complex/IMAC. This complex plays a central role in microvilli and epithelial brush border differentiation (PubMed:24725409).
