Human PCYT2 (Ethanolamine-phosphate Cytidylyltransferase) ELISA Kit
Human PCYT2 (Ethanolamine-phosphate Cytidylyltransferase) ELISA Kit
The Human (PCYT2) Ethanolamine-phosphate Cytidylyltransferase ELISA Kit measures Ethanolamine-phosphate cytidylyltransferase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PCYT2 antibody. PCYT2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PCYT2 Antibody is added and binds to PCYT2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PCYT2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PCYT2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Ethanolamine-phosphate cytidylyltransferase that catalyzes the second step in the synthesis of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) from ethanolamine via the CDP-ethanolamine pathway (PubMed:9083101, PubMed:31637422).
Phosphatidylethanolamine is a dominant inner-leaflet phospholipid in cell membranes, where it plays a role in membrane function by structurally stabilizing membrane-anchored proteins, and participates in important cellular processes such as cell division, cell fusion, blood coagulation, and apoptosis (PubMed:9083101).
