The Human (PDGFA) Platelet-derived Growth Factor Subunit A ELISA Kit measures Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Subunit A in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PDGFA antibody. PDGFA present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PDGFA Antibody is added and binds to PDGFA in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PDGFA antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PDGFA. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. Potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. Required for normal lung alveolar septum formation during embryogenesis, normal development of the gastrointestinal tract, normal development of Leydig cells and spermatogenesis. Required for normal oligodendrocyte development and normal myelination in the spinal cord and cerebellum. Plays an important role in wound healing.
