The Human (PIN1) Protein (Peptidylprolyl Cis, Trans Isomerase) Nima-interacting 1 ELISA Kit measures protein(peptidylprolyl cis/trans isomerase) NIMA-interacting 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PIN1 antibody. PIN1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PIN1 Antibody is added and binds to PIN1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PIN1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PIN1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundPeptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase NIMA-interacting 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PIN1 gene. Pin 1, or peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase (PPIase), isomerizes only phospho-Serine/Threonine-Proline motifs. The enzyme binds to a subset of proteins and thus plays a role as a post phosphorylation control in regulating protein function. Studies have shown that the deregulation of Pin1 may play a pivotal role in various diseases. Notably, the up-regulation of Pin1 is implicated in certain cancers, and the down-regulation of Pin1 is implicated in Alzheimer's disease.
