The Human (PLXNA1) Plexin A1 ELISA Kit measures Plexin A1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PLXNA1 antibody. PLXNA1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PLXNA1 Antibody is added and binds to PLXNA1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PLXNA1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PLXNA1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Coreceptor for SEMA3A, SEMA3C, SEMA3F and SEMA6D. Necessary for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth and cell migration. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins, and its cytoplasmic domain is required for the activation of down-stream signaling events in the cytoplasm (By similarity).
