Human PPARGC1 (Peroxisome Proliferative Activated Receptor Gama Coactivator 1 Alpha) ELISA Kit

Human PPARGC1 (Peroxisome Proliferative Activated Receptor Gama Coactivator 1 Alpha) ELISA Kit

The Human (PPARGC1) Peroxisome Proliferative Activated Receptor Gama Coactivator 1 Alpha ELISA Kit measures Peroxisome Proliferative Activated Receptor Gama Coactivator 1 Alpha in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PPARGC1A antibody. PPARGC1A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PPARGC1A Antibody is added and binds to PPARGC1A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PPARGC1A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PPARGC1A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Research Areas Metabolism
Background Transcriptional coactivator for steroid receptors and nuclear receptors. Greatly increases the transcriptional activity of PPARG and thyroid hormone receptor on the uncoupling protein promoter. Can regulate key mitochondrial genes that contribute to the program of adaptive thermogenesis. Plays an essential role in metabolic reprogramming in response to dietary availability through coordination of the expression of a wide array of genes involved in glucose and fatty acid metabolism. Induces the expression of PERM1 in the skeletal muscle in an ESRRA-dependent manner. Also involved in the integration of the circadian rhythms and energy metabolism. Required for oscillatory expression of clock genes, such as ARNTL/BMAL1 and NR1D1, through the coactivation of RORA and RORC, and metabolic genes, such as PDK4 and PEPCK.
