The Human (PRMT2) Protein Arginine N-methyltransferase 2 ELISA Kit measures Protein arginine N-methyltransferase 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PRMT2 antibody. PRMT2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PRMT2 Antibody is added and binds to PRMT2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PRMT2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PRMT2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Arginine methyltransferase that methylates the guanidino nitrogens of arginyl residues in proteins such as STAT3, FBL, histone H4. Acts as a coactivator (with NCOA2) of the androgen receptor (AR)-mediated transactivation. Acts as a coactivator (with estrogen) of estrogen receptor (ER)-mediated transactivation. Enhances PGR, PPARG, RARA-mediated transactivation. May inhibit NF-kappa-B transcription and promote apoptosis. Represses E2F1 transcriptional activity (in a RB1-dependent manner).
