Human PRODH (Proline Dehydrogenase 1) ELISA Kit
Human PRODH (Proline Dehydrogenase 1) ELISA Kit
The Human (PRODH) Proline Dehydrogenase 1 ELISA Kit measures Proline dehydrogenase 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PRODH antibody. PRODH present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PRODH Antibody is added and binds to PRODH in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PRODH antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PRODH. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Proline dehydrogenase, mitochondrial is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PRODH gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a mitochondrial proline dehydrogenase which catalyzes the first step in proline catabolism. Deletion of this gene has been associated with type I hyperprolinemia. The gene is located on chromosome 22q11.21, a region which has also been associated with the contiguous gene deletion syndromes: DiGeorge syndrome and CATCH22 syndrome.
