The Human (PROK1) Prokineticin-1 ELISA Kit measures Prokineticin-1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human PROK1 antibody. PROK1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human PROK1 Antibody is added and binds to PROK1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PROK1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PROK1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Potently contracts gastrointestinal (GI) smooth muscle. Induces proliferation, migration and fenestration (the formation of membrane discontinuities) in capillary endothelial cells derived from endocrine glands. Has little or no effect on a variety of other endothelial and non-endothelial cell types. Induces proliferation and differentiation, but not migration, of enteric neural crest cells.
