Human QPCT (Glutaminyl-peptide Cyclotransferase) ELISA Kit

Human QPCT (Glutaminyl-peptide Cyclotransferase) ELISA Kit

The Human (QPCT) Glutaminyl-peptide Cyclotransferase ELISA Kit measures Glutaminyl-Peptide Cyclotransferase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human QPCT antibody. QPCT present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human QPCT Antibody is added and binds to QPCT in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated QPCT antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human QPCT. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Responsible for the biosynthesis of pyroglutamyl Peptides. Has a bias against acidic and tryptophan residues adjacent to the N-terminal glutaminyl residue and a lack of importance of chain length after the second residue. Also catalyzes N-terminal pyroglutamate formation. In vitro, catalyzes pyroglutamate formation of N-terminally truncated form of APP amyloid-beta Peptides [Glu-3]-amyloid-beta. May be involved in the N-terminal pyroglutamate formation of several amyloid-related plaque-forming Peptides. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
