Human RBP2 (Retinol-binding Protein 2) ELISA Kit
Human RBP2 (Retinol-binding Protein 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (RBP2) Retinol-binding Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Retinol-binding protein 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human RBP2 antibody. RBP2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human RBP2 Antibody is added and binds to RBP2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RBP2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human RBP2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Retinol-binding protein 2 (RBP2) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RBP2 gene. RBP2 is an abundant protein present in the small intestinal epithelium. It is thought to participate in the uptake and/or intracellular metabolism of vitamin A. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin necessary for growth, reproduction, differentiation of epithelial tissues, and vision. RBP2 may also modulate the supply of retinoic acid to the nuclei of endometrial cells during the menstrual cycle. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
